PLEASE HELP!!! I have a herniatedL5 disc in my back... As well as a VERY sore hip flexor and degenerative disk disease.....

I have a very physical job.. I deliver kegs of beer (lbs each) all day every day with driving a semi. I'm seeing a chiropractor for 3 months now and it's not getting any better. I do my stretches and exercises he taught me as well as having spinal decompression daily there him and at home with a D.C. Table he borrowed me, ice, alieve, makinzee ect.... Don't get me wrong the Doc knows what he's doing I'm just afraid that my job is not going to allow this to heal and I can't afford to take off work. I'm seeing doc 4 out of 7 days and I feel I'm getting no where. Can anyone suggest something that may help me get back to normal while still seeing him and doing my daily things on top of work??? My next step is corto shot and then the knife.

I'm afraid this is something that only a professional medical practitioner can help you deal with. Perhaps you should stick to the doctor's regimen because only s/he knows the extent of the damage to your back. You could also seek a second opinion from another doctor.

you should either get a different less physical job or just get a strong back brace

I had the same problem, went to a chiropractor for a yr. Nothing. Finally, I saw a nuerosugeon and she took this long needle and gave mea shot in the back. It didn't hurt at all. Never had any pain after that and it's been about 9 years.

Do you recall what the shot was? He has recommended a shot that is a cortisone/steroid mix. I'm not afraid of needle, pain or cost I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I can not afford time off work so I don't want to try something like a shot if by performing my daily work routine would just cancel the shot treatment out....

I don't remember what the shot was but I did have a herniated disc, sciatica and my spinal bones were rubbing against each other. I'm a teacher and I was in agony walking around. I walked out of that office in no pain.
