Is it normal to gain weight when you are trying to loose it?

Can someone please give me some good advice on weight loss and how I can just loose a few extra pounds that I do not want anymore? I am exercising daily, and eating healthier foods, but I could swear my pants are getting tighter!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

If you are working out and building heavier muscle tissue at a faster rate than losing light fat and flab, you would be gaining weight.

Simply eat less. It's as easy as that. Won't take long to lose just a few pounds. You don't even need to exercise. Yes, it's normal to gain while trying to lose. If you consume more calories than you burn, in any given day......weight gain.

Of course, you are doing everything right. Your muscles are developing and growing in size. Fat will go but remember that it doesn`t weigh as much as muscles. Good luck)

Exercising builds muscle. So you're not gaining fat, you're gaining muscle. That's a huge difference.

You seem to be doing everything right so Craigsmom has the winning response. If you walk away from the table still feeling as though you need just a little more to eat you'll be surprised at how quickly that empty feeling goes away.

Yes, muscle weighs heavier than fat and if you're doing enough exercise to build new muscle then that will affect your weight ... but it WON'T make your clothes feel tighter.

Good luck. You can do this.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're building up muscle, it's totally normal.
