Has anyone filed a workers comp claim for an injury? Do they have to pay you for time you miss because of the injury?

I hurt my back at work and I am going to file a claim and get checked out by a doctor. I am just concerned about missing work and not getting paid.

Yes, make sure you keep all of your paperwork regarding the injury. This includes receipts for doctor visits, medical treatment cost, and the time you need to take off work due to the injury. Your doctor will write a note for you to give to your employer so you can return to work. That way your employer will know when you can return to work.

You get workers compensation. It's usually 2/3 of your weekly earnings. You will get most of your money in the lawsuit.

Thanks. I don't plan on a lawsuit but I am filing a claim in case I miss work

I didn't plan on filing a lawsuit when I hurt my knee either. The health insurance company that covers my job denied the claim. They claimed it was a natural injury. Even my work was telling the insurance company it was a work injury. Just be prepared.
