My NY state liscense was suspended. I owe like $1500. Do I have to pay that before I apply for my Georgia state license?

Hopfully i dont

The Georgia and New York DMV's operate independently so your suspended New York license will not have any effect on your Georgia application. You should nevertheless pay any due fines to avoid a criminal record.

It called the compact agreement between states. Suspended, revoked, or denied in one state, you are in all of them! Please if you don't know the answer don't guess!

I believe you will have to pay. The laws have international file systems so it can be seen through any law agency, in any state.

I think you are right. I believe they have the right to refuse to issue a new license due to issue.

It is called the compact law. If you are suspended, revoked, or denied in one state, you are the same in all the rest! It was instituted to keep bad drivers from just going to another state, getting a license there and blowing off the reasons for the action in the other state
