Then why not include it in the question? "Why do people read their texts out loud?" Your question suggests that women do it rather than men, and that most or all women do it.

I do it out of necessity with my male friends, cuz if I don't they just don't get it. one of them half the time has to ask me what that was supposed to mean, cuz I can turn even a short sentence into a long lecture, and he only catches half of it.
