Should I date him?

ok so I go to a preppy private school in Atlanta. I'm white and preppy and smart and athletic. I'm not racist, but this is a legit question. I'm 15 and never have I had a crush on a black guy (with exception of celebs). but there is this new guy at school who is light black and he is so cute and sweet and I finally came clean about my crush on him to my friends and my mom. my friends apparently had figured it out before I had... and are supportive and happy about it and fine with it...... mom wasn't too happy. she wasn't mad but she was all be careful people will talk and no white guy will ever date you again. help!!! I really like him and if he likes me I want to go for it! I want a relationship with him!

Screw ya' mom mate, go for it. I'm made fun of because I dated an asian, a mexican, a black girl, and an Indian. Just do what ya' feel is right mate.

Wow. Skin colour shouldn't matter! Ask your mom why she is so against it and try to explain skin colour doesn't matter and it's what's on the inside that counts and then hope for the best. Good luck :)
