Is there a time limit in texas to ask that a retainer fee paid to an attorney who never rendered service be returned?

i paid an attorney $5,750 almost 2 years ago and services where never rendered. can i get that back. i never signed anything

There is no time limit as to when you should get your retainer fee. If an attorney doesn't provide with services required, you have a right to get your retainer fee immediately. Make a special visit to his office or else, file a complaint or grievance with an attorney grievance commission.
