When should you start a relationship?

I'm a junior in high school and I've never actually dated someone before so I don't know much lol. But there is this girl I like who has known me for quite a while, we've talked on Facebook for about 5 months now, we've hung out only twice yet though (both in the last month) and we talk in the halls whenever we see each other. Some of our conversations I love, I love her humor and her interests and how much we have in common. I feel like she is even more interested in me than I am in her. How long should I know her to ask her out? Or is there a benefit to just staying friends?

Dude, 5 months is enough. Ask her out. Lol

well don't wait to long cuz then the dangers of being "friend zoned" arise. I would just go for it!

if you think she may be a possible candidate for marriage, then that is the time to start a relationship, no matter how old you are, or how long you've known them

Listen, do NOT, repeat do NOT ask her to be your girlfriend, just ask her out on a DATE! The purpose of dating is to see if your really like each other. If you jump straight into a relationship you might find out that you don't really like each other and a then have to go through a painful breakup. If you date her a few times and decide she's not right for you then you just don't take her out anymore. Date a few other girls and compare, contrast and decide from there.

Then what is the difference between dating and hanging out if I can see other girls?

"Dating" means going out on DATES. It's the weeding out process desinged to keep you from making a huge mistake

PLEASE ask her out! You will get friend zoned if you don't. You do not want that if you really like her. At this point y'all should have been going out.

You are still a bit young. I was not allowed to date until I was 16. This could be the same with the girl. My daughter had a "special" friend who was a boy last summer. (she was 13, he was 14 (and turned 15) Too young to date but I allowed her to hang out with him as long as they were with others. (at his house with his family there...fortunately, his family had the same rules)

Hey, I'm a very shy person and have this crush on this girl at my school. She doesn't know who i am nor that i exist lol and i am like way out of her league. What should i do.
Report as
Well, you won't know unless you talk with her. Shyness is difficult, my daughter is painfully, shy, too. She started a friendship with her guy by texting and facebook. (after meeting one day at the library with a friend) Do you have phone or computer? It's a good place to start when it's too embarrasing to go up and talk with her face to face. When, I was in junior high, I had a crush and wrote him a note. ha ha

I'm a 14 year old girl, and if a guy didn't ask me out by now, I would start to worry if he only thought of me as a friend.. And she probably does like you so yea you should ask her out! :)

well if you feel confident she will say yes, and you can see yourself with her long term almost everyday...without being awkward and screwing up the friendship you have right now than i would say go for it.. good luck!
