What causes frequent urination in men? And the person does not drink!

And let's not forget the enlarged prostate gland or even prostate cancer. It's definitely worthwhile seeing a doctor to make sure there's not a serious problem.

Dozy, are you anywhere near the fires? We've been getting reports of the extreme weather you are experiencing and hope you are in a safe area. What do the animals do in this kind of weather. Do people put water out for them? I'm thinking of the koalas.

@sarte: Well, it's the first time I've ever followed somebody who had no Q and no A but when I saw the list of people you were following I realised that you were a reincarnation and figured we'd learn who you were fairly soon. I suspect you have a namesake married to an English queen. In any case, welcome back. (I've only been back myself for about six weeks.)

@Rath: No fires in my area just yet though I'm in a high risk location. The situation is certainly bad -- deadly in some places -- but the media are beating it up for all they're worth. Daizy and I have been through a couple of bushfires but we're too old to get into the heavy stuff now. If we're told to evacuate we'll go without argument, but I doubt if it will come to that.

@Sarte: Just a warning. I don't get any activity notifications so there's a good chance I'll miss any comments you make.

Frequent urination is often an early sign of diabetes. It can also be caused by some other things. Here's a helpful link -----> http://www.webmd.com/urinary-incontinence-oab/frequent-urination-causes-and-treatments

Besides what has been mentioned, it may be due to a neurogenic bladder.
See a doctor. It's curable, most likely.

Together, frequent and urgent urination are classic signs of a urinary tract infection.

Diabetes and prostate problems are other common causes of these symptoms.

Other causes include:
•Alcohol use
•Anxiety
•Bladder cancer (not a common cause)
•Caffeine
•Enlarged prostate or infection of the prostate
•Interstitial cystitis
•Medicines such as water pills (diuretics)
•Overactive bladder syndrome
•Radiation therapy to the pelvis, used to treat certain cancers
•Stroke and other brain or nervous system diseases
•Tumor or growth in the pelvis

Drinking too much before bedtime, especially caffeine or alcohol, can cause frequent urination at nighttime. Frequent urination may also just be a habit.

Diabetic patients go for urination frequently, old age when we can't keep control on our bladders, prostate, cancer, alcohol etc are main causes for that.

In men who are 50 and above, it?s usually an aging prostate that causes men to urinate frequently. You might want to ask your doctor about taking a beta sitosterol supplement (http://www.newvitality.com/super-beta-prostate/p/5A01FE05925C5D7/). Beta sitosterol has a lot of scientific backing for relieving urinary difficulties linked to an aging prostate.

The Dr Max Powers Prostate Complete is what you need to help you - What was most impressive was how quickly I felt its effects -- within about two days, though I'm sure results will vary from person to person. It helped reduce the frequency of urination, the urgency, etc., and I've been able to avoid going on a prescription medication (have you read the side-effects of those popular/frequently advertised ones? No thanks.). On certain days, when I know I'll be in long meetings or traveling, I'll take an extra dose which always helps.
