Although some states require breaks during working hours, Texas and most other states do not. This means an employer can expect you to work up to 8 hours without a break. The only exceptions to this are special regulations relating to hazardous occupations like high-altitude steel erection workers and nuclear plant workers. Read on about this from www.employmentlawhandbook.com/State/Texas.html.

The prior answer is correct. Perhaps you can work out a schedule where you stay a half hour longer your employer will permit a half hour lunch. it's worth a shot if it is important to you.
