How long should I wait til I go back and petition for relief of supervised visits and shared custody?

I was incarcerated recently in Virginia beach city jail and did 4 and a half months in there on my first violation, I went to court on 7/14 and my daughter's father was granted full physical custody and I have joint legal custody. I am going to meetings, getting signatures, and right now trying to better myself and stay sober.

Give it some time. You'll need to show the judge that you have stuck with the supervised visitation...DO NOT MISS ONE! Follow the judges orders, keep doing what you're doing...stay sober (kudos to you for that!) Has the court appointed a guardian en lietum (don't think I spelled that right) for the child? If so, meet with him or her and take the advice they give. Good luck!

Check your copy of the 7/14 court papers. Usually a judge will specify a review date, if so that's your target date. Usually supervised visits and custody are granted when a person has housing and a job. Sounds like you are on your way.

Wait until you have some time to focus on you I know that sounds wrong to some people but what you are dealing with right now you need to get yourself back together so you can in time offer her want she deserves from you. Give yourself time
