How come half of the people said 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 x 0 = 9 or 10? Are we so stupid that we forgot that ANYTHING "X 0" is 0?!

I was looking at past questions I answered.

Yes - anything that is multiplied by 0 = 0, HOWEVER, in any math equation, you always follow order of operations PPMDAS. Which means that, in the absence of parenthesis, you multiply/divide (whichever comes first), BEFORE you add/subtract.

So going by order of operations in your equation above, you would multiply the last 1 by 0 first, then add the rest of the ones to that...

1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 x 0 = 9
1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+0= 9

Which leaves you just adding up the rest of the ones, then adding them to the 0, which = 9.
