an ineresting question, let us approach this from a basis of philosophy, What is love? what makes it what it is? how do we, as finite human beings know how to grasp, the concept of love which is intrinsically based in the infinite? the answer to all these questions, quite simply lies with God. Love, is a choice that we, as finite human beings, make to put someone else first, and do what is best for them, even at a great cost to ourselves, this definition of love is personified by God himself, in taking on the incarnation of a man, and dying on the Cross for our sins. You see, as finite human beings, we can grasp this infinite concept of love, because God has revealed himself to us, this seems like an odd correlation to make, until one realizes an often overlooked fact of the matter, God, IS Love, this infinite concept, is revealed to us, everytime God shows himself to us, God makes Love the singular and infinite power that it is, because God is love in himself, and like a river, this love must overflow. with God, all things are possible, God can do anything, including cover up sin, and so, as God in himself is love, then the answer is yes, Love, can cover up all sin.
A loving disposition leads us to pass by the faults of others, to forgive offenses against ourselves, and to excuse and lessen, as far as is consistent with truth, the transgressions of men. It does not mean that our love to others will induce God to pardon our offenses.Clarke's Commentary on the Bible
