I collect widows ss and I want to get a job. How much can I earn before I loose my benefits.

I currently receive about $1400 a month. With 3 kids , mortgage and car payments doesn't go far. I need to supplement my income with out loosing my benefits.

Earnings prior to the month you reach full retirement age count towards your yearly limit. If you work the whole year, it will be determined how much your benefit must be reduced. For instance, if you are under FRA when you began getting your Social Security benefits, $1 in benefits will be subtracted for each $2 you make above the annual limit. http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/302/~/working-while-receiving-widow's-benefits

Idk but maybe you could do things like walking dogs, child care, or something that they pay cash until you know for sure.

Each case is different, you need to talk directly with SS. I can make and additional $14,600.00. When I'm 66 they tell me there are no limits
