How do you go about long distance visitation?

My ex and I share a child that is 15 months old after we split he showed no interest in seeing her. I then moved to TX and she no longer even knows him. I live in Texas and he is in NC and we are currently in a custody battle my lawyer asked me how I would like to go about him getting visitation with her. I have no family there and he does not either so her going to a family members house is out of the question. He has a violent past and a drinking problem that worries me so I don't want her staying with him either for long periods of time

Argue that he has to come to Texas to have visits. She is too young to travel alone. He is too undependable to have overnights.

I think the best way to do it is let your daughter stay with him during fall and spring breaks. You can also alternate between thanksgiving and Easter. You can also share Christmas holiday.
