Why can't I get a job?

I have no criminal record.
I've volunteered several places.
I have a college degree.
And I can't get a job to save my life!

You need to apply for EVERY job. No matter what they are. Firstly, because the Job interview takes practice itself. Secondly, because the old saying: "It is easier to find a new job when you already HAVE a job" is true. So just work anywhere. I know you have a degree and all. But a Degree without a job is useless. Find a job..... Any job. Nothing is beneath unemployment! Then once you are working, you will be able to patiently search for your real job.

It might have something to do with what you majored in. I know somebody who majored in English and had trouble finding a stable job.

Are you an agreeable person? Do you present your self well?
It could just be due to the bad economy. Keep trying. :)

A lot of people are having the same problem right now. It may be time to start looking at other jobs. Ones that aren't quite what you expected to be applying for or ones that are below what you thought you would. Also look for resume workshops to help you polish up your resume.

Don't give up. Tough to get a job in a slow economy but all signs are showing that things are looking up. Housing market (which caused this mess in 2008) is getting back on its feet, Stock Market is trending up, European Union seems to be getting its act together.

So think positive and show them how you will make a difference to their bottom line, i.e. convince them you will contribute to their profit.

Chances are you can get a job, you just want a certain amount of money. First take a look at your rsume. Does it need tweaking? What jobs are you applying for, something in your field or just something to get by? Try banking, if the bank has an operation center in your area that is a great jumping off point. After a year you can bid into other jobs, that's what I did
