What do you do when your moving away from your friends and family and your scared you wont keep contact?

I'm in foster care so its hard to keep in contact and it really sucks because I've been with this family for 3 years on and off. I have so many friends and family members here that it's depressing.

Get all the contact information. Ask your next family for some stamps or your case worker. Use the computer and snail mail. Even if they don't answer at first continue. Life get's in the way but plod on. I lost touch with a friend after highschool. Always sent her a birthday card. One year I didn't because things were bad in my life. We reconnected because she called to find out what was wrong when she didn't get her birthday card. Hang in. Some people will be a constant others will wander in and out.

That does sound hard. No one likes to move away from friends and family and I'm sorry you have to go through this. Concentrate on meeting new friends, and with the internet, you'll be able to stay in touch with your family and friends. It'll be up to you, if you want to stay in their lives, you'll have to work at it, but you can do it. Someone somewhere else must need you with them.

Connect on facebook. And addresses to send letters.
It's honestly really hard my cuz in is in foster and I rarely talk to her

Yea it's really complicated when your in foster care because sometimes your on lock down. I hope youll be able to talk to her soon! I know how you feel.

If they are true friendships you will stay connected through whatever means necessary. If they don't work out I guarantee you'll find more than one new friend where you're headed.
