Do cult's deny Jesus is God?

How do they handle scripture like John 1:1 & John 20:28
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

That belief varies from cult to cult. There are many closed societies in this country that are christian and certainly fit the criteria of a cult.

Considering they don't believe in the bible, they probably ignore it. Everyone who isn't christian generally say jesus isn't god.

Prove it? What are do have to have faith to know it was a cult? Or xan u provide real evidence? This is nonsense.

cult: "a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies."
"An instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers"
"A group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc."
Nothing is absolutely "prove-able", just as you take it upon "faith" that there is a God and that Jesus was/is his son therefore God, you to need to take in that there are other belief systems and that just because they do not agree with yours they within themselves are also neither "Absolute", either right or wrong, they just are...

yes, even some christian religions deny the divinity of Jesus, this is a serious error created by a heresy that surfaced in the early days of christianity, when only the Catholic Church existed, called Arianism, which denies the divinity of Jesus Christ, and says he is only a man, there are many people and religions who currently believe in this erroneous mantra today, most notably, the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Christianity is itself a cult. Many in it symbolicly eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus.
Report as
no, within the Catholic Church, we LITERALLY eat the flesh of and drink the blood of Jesus, it isnt a cult, simply the true sacrifice.
Report as
You can't eat the flesh and drink the blood of a 2000 year old alleged man. To think that you are literally doing that and that that isn't cult-like is some serious denial. The least you could do is admit that it's symbolic like many of christians who realize that wine, koolaid, bread, crackers, etc. Isn't the literal body of a man.
Report as
considering all of the consecrated hosts that have been scientifically tested have had the appearance of bread and wine, but the anatomical consistency of flesh and blood, apparently you can
Report as
As I've said nothing is ABSOLUTLY prove-able, but sure would like to hear of even one empirical-scientific study that backs up what you just said
Report as
Care to provide a source for these scientific tests that prove the impossible?

Listen preppy boy. Christianity isn't a religion. And no the definition of Christian means that you believe Jesus died for ur sins and that Jesus and god are the same person. and Christianity has been around ever since the veil was torn.

Defenition of religion:1). a setof beliefs concerning the cuase, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2). A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of people or sects: 'the Christian Religion; the Buddhist religion.....'
5).The practice of religious beliefs; ritual observance of faith.
Still insist Christianity is Not a religion?...

By the way; only the " modern" definition of Christianity makes Jesus one and the same as God. Wasn't untill the Emperor Constantine held the First Council of Nicaea and formulated the original Nicene Creed of 325 : describes the relationship between the Father and the Son as Homoousios or Consubstantiality, meaning "of the same substance" or " of one being" and even then they put them as being "of the same " substance" not as " one Being". Even then they couldn't agree... It goes on and on untill the writing of first modern Bibles and is really quite interesting AND informative and should in no way detract from your faith, it should stand on it's own. The learning of origins/ history/adaptations can only add to that. I am in no way attacking your faith, just trying to add some perspective.

And yes, christianity did start as a Jewish Sect of the Levant of the Middle East in the mid-1st century. it' s earliest leadership was under the Twelve Apostles, Christianity developed as a separation/disagreement over many centuries between Pharisaic/Rabbinic Judaism and Early/Proto-orthodox Christianity . Check your history.

Most all deny Jesus as God.
They think He was a man or a prophet. Some think Jesus was created as a spirit child by sexual union. Some think He was Michael the archangel. Some say He was a perfect man. Some think He is a Guru. Some think He is a false Messiah. Some think He was a good teacher. Some do not believe in Him at all.
In true Christianity : the Trinity is correct. God the Father..God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

What do you define as a cult? Many call cults a religion or belief that is different to their own. A good example is Jehovah's Witnesses. Many call them a cult simply because they do NOT believe that Jesus is the same as God the creator and Father, but rather his firstborn and son. They do not believe that Almighty God came to earth, but rather he sent Jesus to provide the needed ransom sacrifice. But they DO believe in Jesus and give him the proper honor and respect, and call him Lord and Savior. Many scriptures are taken out of context and have been mistranslated to support the trinity doctrine. Makes sense to me that JWs are NOT a cult.
