It must be because the site doesn't block them. I don't see a problem with it...."very cheese and not personal " describes some of the ' real ' answers some folks put on here. It easier, and faster, for me sometimes since I am slow, old, and have the old ' hunt & peck " style of typing....lol....and the amount of info can be tremendous. In a way it shows you are not just pulling answers outta your arse....tho that seems to be where some folks do get their info.....lol. I know from personal experience that there is a filter on here to catch links that aren't ' appropriate ' and/or cleared for this site. Just so EVERY answer isn't a link....I fail to see the problem with using them sometimes.
Sometimes when I find an answer for someone, I can't do anything other than leave the link. There is a 1200 character limit here on ask, I am not sure why. But sometimes the answer is longer than that. I think it's within the guidelines as long as the link goes directly to the answer.
