Right now I'm living off of SSI disability, before that I did janitorial/maintenance stuff at a chain of carwashes, I was lucky to have that as a job. In high school the Master Sergeant, one of the instructors of the Army JROTC class I was in, told me a million times "you don't HAVE to go to college, but you're gonna be working hard the rest of your life." I didn't mind that at all.
I might be too young in my life to answer this, because I haven't worked long enough. When I was younger, as in back in high school, I dreamed of being a writer and doing what I could to bring myself to the best seller's list. Everyone knew that I loved to write and they all wondered when I would write my first book.
Right now, I work as a UPS Driver Helper. I drive a golf car for most of the day and deliver and scan packages. Nowadays, I think this job might get in the way of my dreams of being a writer. If I work for this company, I don't see myself being a writer. But, I do enjoy my job, even if it is just seasonal.
