What is the nature of element for iron

Need for science class, like is it radioactive etc..

Report as

It does not fuse to create other elements and release energy in a star, rather it tends to absorb the energy and nuclear fusion stops and that means the death of the star. However the high temperatures and pressure required for iron to fuse and create the element cobalt can be achieved only in the explosion of a collapsing star, or super nova. all the heavier elements are created in these huge explosions
