If you peel off the scab you will have a red raw patch on your skin.... which will grow another scab. It is most unfortunate but... leave it alone so that it doesnt scar your face. Getting rid of the scab should have been thought of BEFORE the day of the event

If you mess with a scab before it is ready to flake off, you will risk leaving a scar, it will probably bleed and cause an even more unsightly scab that will take another week to heal!!!! Careful use of make-up is the best way to disguise a scab that has not healed. Pick at it and you will be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fastest way to have a scab mature and come away naturally is to dab it a couple of times a day with Calendula tea. Take fresh Calendula (Marigold daisies) flowers and clip them into small pieces so that you one-third fill a cup. Fill the cup with boiling water, allow to cool and dab over the wound with a piece of cotton wool soaked in the Calendula solution. Free, VERY effective and no scars!!!

Funny that you say that! Same thing happened to me last year at Homecoming. What I did (sorry- this is gonna sound nasty) was I put some tape on it, ripped it off and put gauze over it before another scab could form. Then, after it stopped bleeding, I put a giant glob of Neosporin on it and let it sit for a few hours... Although you ARE going to look funny, it worked for me.

Bye lovie ;)

Keep Neosporin on it, so it will moisturize and prevent infection. Honestly it is probably red because A) you pick at it, or B) it's infected. So QUIT TOUCHING IT. Keep the Neosporin on and depending on the size and how bad it is, the scab may dissolve. If it does. great, if it doesn't, that doesn't give you license to pick it off. Either way, you will still have whatever injury underneath. Don't rub, don't pick, just leave it alone and the redness will go away.

Put some Neosporin on it. After that, don't touch it.

I lightly "file" off the bulk of scabs with a nail file, but be careful not to file too much & remove scab. This takes the shape down, as well as some of the dark color away. Then put cocoa butter on it to soften & LEAVE it alone after that.

file it off lightly(most of it not all) and apply minor makeup to conceal.
