i did it when i was younger but i stop it about 30 years ago when i Hurd no more cracking and just felt pain. i'm now 60 and wish i never cracked anything. the sound of the crack is the liquid in your joints and this is like removing a toy dart from a surface. the ware your putting on the joint is not repairable......stop now
No, but some people are not comfortable with the sound of it, and if you're in a place or in the presence of people that requires a certain amount of decorum, you may want to refrain from doing it, there.
No. It is actually slightly healthy for your knuckles. The cracking sound is actually a liquid in your joints that contain oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide and form into bubbles that burst between the two bones.
there is air in every bone joint in your body, it is used to keep distance between bones when they are moved so they don't wear our. sometimes to much air gets in your joints and you get the urge to crack ( get rid of some of that air) your joins, if you don't, your joins might swell up and cause some serious problems. This creaking urge is most expressed when going through puberty because your body is growing and the joints are not sure how much air they need yet, so they fill up to the limit. altogether, cracking your joints such as the knuckles is not harmful, its actually good for you!
recent studies show that cracking your knuckles is actually the release of chemicals in between the joints that helps them move easier & faster. (think of it kind of like cracking a glow stick; when you crack them it causes a chemical reaction that releases energy in the form of light.)
