Seriously! When I first heard about Gun Appreciation Day, my first thought was... Bad idea, someone is going to get hurt. I hope no one was seriously injured. I also feared, the opposition might cause an "accident", to occur.
Which raises a point - we often hear the stats on gun murders, but I can't remember hearing much about numbers on injuries, accidental or intentional, or on suicides. Or anything about the costs associated with lost productivity, medical costs, etc. Those costs don't cut into the arms industry's profits, so they don't have to factor them into their equations.
