What can help boost your immune system? or how can I boost my immune system?

ok, so I REALLY can't afford to get sick: I'm taking a film class where we analyze film, and so I need to be to my film class everytime, since that's what our assignments are on: the film we watch. I also have a terminally ill and diseased friend who is on hospice, whom I cannot visit if I am sick. my mom has the flu, which isn't anything I'm concerned about catching, since she stays in her room. my dad however, is convinced he's not sick, though he says he has a scratchy throat and won't stop coughing and has a runny nose... he kept whispering stuff to me during church which was irritating and stressful: I don't want him near me, let alone breathing on me. he's not very respectful of boundaries either. how can I boost my immune system? My dad has to take just about everything offensively, so what's a "polite" way I can tell my dad to essentially, back off from me? thanks!

Eat lots of ORANGES! I have been eating an orange almost everyday and I have not been sick even once! My boyfriend had been sick twice in the past two months, and I didn't get sick..... ORANGES!

They are amazing :)

The citric acid in oranges also eats away at your enamel. Be careful with how many you eat.

Take vitamins C with Ros? Hip and B complex. Get plenty of rest, drink a lot of Green Tea and exercise every day. Here is my favorite home made tea for immune booster: peel from one orange and lemon, a couple of strawberries, hand full of cloves (spices). Let it simmer for about 20 minutes then add the juice of both, orange and lemon before drinking it.

Thanks:) is green tea an herbal tea?

Green tea is a herbal tea. I prefer the loose leaf...you get more vitamin and nutrients than the ones in the bags.

Ok, thanks! Was just making sure: I can only have herbal tea. Thanks:)

Vitamin C, ColdFX, echinacea. Get lots of sleep and some sunlight doesn't hurt. Avoid sugar and junk food- it suppresses immune response.

I recommend taking a vitamin
C
Supplement of 1,000mg at the least. If you can, get some Airborne because the flu is an epidemic right now. Drink lots of water or juice (soda is not good) get plenty of sleep of possible. Try telling your dad that you are juggling so many things right now and are stressed. He could really help you out by taking care of your mom, and his own health because you are getting run-down and need him to help u stay healthy. Sometimes if u approach them with how they can help, and that u need them, they don't get defensive. Good Luck!

Thanks, I'm only stressed about getting sick though. And my mom basically just sleeps right now, and is able to care for herself. (She just sleeps and ears ice cream) my dad has some kinda mental thing or idk, he takes Things personal, and sometimes tries to spite people if they upset him... So I'm worried if I told him to maintain a distance when speaking to me, he'd simply cough in my face.. Idk very stressed and worried right now.
