j bird is kind of right. the hiccups are actually a spasm caused by a cramp in your diaphragm muscle, which is the muscle under your lungs that makes you breathe in. eat a banana for the potassium and take long deep breaths. if it doesn't stop, call your doc as it may be a side effect of some other issue.
It is a trick on the diaphragm. The way I learned that hasn't failed me to trick it back is: Fill a drinking glass with water. Hold a piece of clean cloth snug over it. Drink the water with your bottom lip in the normal position on the side of the glass. Your top lip on the cloth. drink at least till you swallow twice. Wipe yourself off or wear a bib of some kind, you will drip. Always does it
I drink water upside down!! It works every time and on everyone who's tried it!!! It's easier than it sounds. If you have a question on how just comment and ill tell ya! :) *hic hic hic* you gave me the hiccups!!!!!
Hiccups are caused by an interruption in breathing. This can come from any number of causes including eating or drinking to quickly. An interruption in breathing irritates a nerve known as the Vagus Nerve that runs from the skull down to the stomach. When the Vagus Nerve is irritated it can cause the diaphragm to involuntarily spasm which is what makes you hiccup!! You can stop your hiccups every time with The Hiccup Stick. http://hicural.com/hiccup-relief/what-causes-hiccups-2/
