There will be no violent reaction if you mix vinegar and glycerine. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which is used for salads, as cooking ingredients, home canning and pickling. Glycerine is an organic compound used mainly in soaps, lotions, heart medicines, explosives, and candle making. You can use glycerine and vinegar for book binding or leathered glue. Add 1 packet of unflavored gelatin to 3 tbls. boiling water in a pan. Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add 1 tbls. vinegar and 1 tbls. gylcerine to the pan. Stir until well mixed. While the glue is still warm, apply a thin layer with a brush. Store the glue in a tightly capped plastic or glass jar. Use the glue for binding leather to leather, gluing cloth to cardboard, or use on paper.
