InterRail train pass, reservations at hostels and some cash to buy your food ( credit cards accepted ) carry some identification with you too ( passport preferably ) Make bookings fairly early to get beds from good hostels, lots of them to choose. Join the hostel chain if you gonna be trippin for months. Insurance for missing items, some musical or artistic instrument for hangin out with friends and to have something to do.
it is not a good idea but.... matches (for fires) tent (or go to a hotel for the night) water (ALOT) food (ALOT) really warm boots (2 pairs) backpack a passport saying you can enter this place I.D. other "personal" stuff (example: under wear) HOT (meaning warm) jackets (3 pairs with hoodies) blankets (warm and 2 pairs) backpack (easy to carry but big!) one item to entertain you _______________________________________________
First, watch "Hostel", "Train", "Taken", "Seventh Moon", and "Human Centipede" to get a feel for what magical memories await foreigners visiting other countries! Then, purchase some life insurance and a handgun. Good luck and have a wonderful time!

First off, you will need to ignore half of these answers. I have been to 29 countries, and I can tell you there is no better experience or form of education than what your wanting to do. 1) bring 4 days worth of pants and shirts, and a week and a half of underwear and socks!! Trust me. Toiletries..just buy them when you get there. TRAVEL LIGHT!! I can't stress this one enough. You will need a passport (about $150-$200, depending on the county/state you live in. Charges and taxes vary) Get a Eurail Pass. Its a lot like a weekly bus or metro pass here in the states, but it goes to most European countries, and by far, the cheapest and fastest way to get around 2) - Money....Euros. They are worth more than the dollar now a days, so keep in mind, that what ever you have saved for the trip, is worth about half that in most Euro countries. 3) - A place to crash and store your stuff....HOSTELS!!! Most hostels are around $10-$20 a night, and yes, I'm serious. I'm on FB if you have any other questions. I have A LOT more to tell you!
