my friend had a miscarriage

ah, she needs you to support her, if the father is around, try and get him to assist you in consoling her over this great loss, i've lost three siblings to miscarriage, and i know how hard it is for me, and i didn't carry that child, so it ust be a thousand times worse for the mother.

Don't force them to do anything. Ant sort of struggle to get up and do some work type activity can actually injure the brain more. Depression is caused by chemical imbalances due to long term exposure to stress. Also try to take them to a dr to get some sort of antidepressant.

Encourage them to see a doctor. If you are a young person, talk to your parents. Maybe they can call her parents and tell them she is noticeably depressed. If someone is depressed for months, there is nothing you can do yourself....it's an illness that needs treatment.

Be there for them to talk to you, but they should probably see a doctor. If it is a child, tell there parents about their depression.

Make sure they're on their medication and that they get plenty of sunlight and fresh air. Don't let them mope around the house 24/7
