Take a walk on flat terrain and stretch
let your arms swing freely.. that should help you work it out... continue to do this if you want to keep your back healthy

a heating pad and an anti inflammatory should help.

You mean ICE. Never use heat.

Also, ONE anti inflammatory will do nothing. For an anti inflammatory to work you need to build up a level in your system and maintain it for a few days.
I am not trying to criticize... just educate.

Yup heat will make the muscles tighten up.

ok.

I went to the hospital one day because my back hurt so much and was waiting on an appointment to have xrays..anyway they told me the heat and an NSAID. .but I guess you know better than an ER doctor
Report as
Yeah... I guess so. Do not ever use heat and take a regimen of NSAIDS.. Not just one. Taking one will not help you.
I worked in an Emergency Room for a long time.... I know what to do. If you want your back to feel BETTER.... but ice on it. Heat wont help it.

Like I said.... I was just trying to educate you. Not criticize. Also, do some research for yourself. You have the exact same internet that a physician has. .Any sports medicine physician will tell you to ice your back.

Put ice on it... take tylenol and go for a walk. Loosen it up. If you stay idle and do nothing it will tighten up on you and hurt worse.

Get off the computer and lay on a hard surface. Jog, and stretch your back.

Lie flat on your stomach and slowly stretch with your arms out in front of you. I get stiff muscles in my back all the time and after doing this a couple of times it usually helps.
