I can't really say until I am put in that position.
I do have to comment though, on your statement on you might shoot the wrong person. In most situations where you are having to shoot to defend your life, there aren't a whole lot of people around. Attackers like to chose people who are by themselves.

No doubt about it. Both my father and I are tasked with protecting our house. Honestly I'm more capable and I practice weekly for such an occasion that I need to protect a life by taking another. I'm not looking forward to it, but I am definitely ready for it.
Hi. You're question is "loaded!" Big Giggles. The first honest answer is yes. why? Because it 's instinct. I would like to convince otherwise; but my "gut" tells me yes. This is more elaborate. 1.) Any mammal, by instinct, will protect itself if it is backed into a corner or to survive otherwise. 2.) Another reason a mammal will do this is to protect its' mate and/or young. 3.) Because it's hungry (kind of links into #1) and 4.) To protect it's territory. If, in your question, any of things were in jeopardy I would shoot. If I was high on drugs, I don't know. I'm not there. And, if I was just flat out angry. Absolutely not. So, to answer your question, No I wouldn't in a conscious state and yes I would if my husband, family, or friends were in danger. Now are you really confused? Giggle... please?! Haha Take Care! And next time you think of pulling that trigger? Ask , " Can you hold? I'd like to analyze this for a moment?! " hahahahahah
