Will a 100% water change shock or kill my betta fish?

Bettas are really tough my poor betta had a 70% water change in its previous home and got really sick and was like floating around and swimming sideways. He turned out fine! But a 100% is almost sure to kill him!

Oh CRAP. You saved my fish. Please know somewhere out there in this crazy world a betta is alive becase of you.
