What's wrong with my knee?

My right knee has a huge knot on it the size of a golf ball. I've had it for a few years. For starters I'm skinny but I'm not athletic. It constantly hurts especially when it's bent or been bent for a while. It hurts when I stand for so long. And it give out on me and locks up. The doctor said it was common but the pain is worse. It cracks and pops three different times everytime i move it. Out of 1-10 for pain it would be a 10 if I'm lucky a 7 it hurts. My left knee hurts all the time to but it doesn't have a knot. Can someone help?

Just because it's common doesn't mean you should have to deal with it. You have to consult your doctor again and if they don't try to help you then go find another doctor.

I have bad knees too and I'm constantly cracking them. I wear a knee brace when its cold and vitamins help out too.
