It is going to be really cold this week. How do I protect my bottle brush plants from freezing?

We have bottle brush plants in the yard that are already shooting out buds. We have been told they can freeze easily and even die. How do I protect them from the cold?

You can protect your bottle brush plants from freezing by mulching the roots of the plants in thick mulch. You can also grow the young plants in greenhouses until they are big enough to be transplanted.

Wrap them with blanket at night. If you wrap with plastic you must remove in the morning or the sun will burn the plant and it will die.
