does anyone here live in alaska? is it true about the month that you guys go without sun? how is it like?

Yes it is true. Any parts north of the Arctic Circle in the northern hemisphere (and south of the Antarctic Circle in the southern hemisphere) have periods of no sunlight. The period is longer as you get closer to the pole. Conversely, there are equal periods of continual sunlight during the summer months.
