I had braces for 2.5 years and I got them off a few months ago. I'm not going to lie.. you'll feel some pain. But trust me, they're TOTALLY worth it! I would go through the whole process again to get the smile I have today :)
Noooo alls they do is like burn your teeth then keep it open with a machine for about an our then posibly give you a shot in ur jaw wich numbs it for about 2 days and the cement usually gets on your tounge and hardens/sticks...no biggy
Don't be nervous. It doesn't hurt when they put them on, but after the entire procedure you may feel pressure on your teeth or pain because of the braces, so I highly suggest eating soft foods until you think you could handle eating solid foods. If the pain is unbearable you can ask for pain medication.
I had to get braces in second grade and had to go through two different phases, so I didn't get them off until about my freshman year in high school due to an overbite and a diastemata (gap between my two front teeth). Trust me on this though, it's all worth it in the end.
The rumors about braces hurting are very overrated, they may feel a little strange and maybe annoying, but when you get the wire in, and whenever its tightened just don't eat anything for three or four hours, once your teeth adjust, its fine. I had them and the biggest thing was brushing your teeth, it's alot harder to brush with braces on, but just take your time and get in there, forget the pain, it's for wimps!
