Why are sporting events that happen in the evening more intense?

Is is just me, or do sporting events that happen after dinner seem to be more intense. I know that most happen around this time, and they will schedule the better match ups during this time but it all of my best memories of watching sports happen at night. This also happens when I play sports as well. Its like during the morning or afternoon it is you just go though the motions and don't get as involved. They also seem to take longer, like if I have a game in the afternoon if feels like it is over and done with in half the time. Is there something there or is it just me?

Everyone is usually done with school or work for the day, so logically more people will turn on the TV. To gain interest to whatever they are broadcasting, they will broadcast what will be most intriguing to the general public from what they have to offer.

It seems so. It is always like the "big game" is on in the evening

It raises momentum if its in the morning no one
Has time to talk about it but if at night everyone talks about the big game and the players are more energized your supposed to eat carbs with dinner so i guess that works too

The reason that the evening events are more "intense" is due to the fact that the event organizers realize people get off work and come home to eat and watch TV during those hours, that causes them to choose a good matchup for two football teams or some other match in order to get people to watch it. Hope that helped.
