Im makeing chicken soup. But istead of boiling the chichen in water has anyone used chicken broth instead? Seems like you'd get more flavor
I find that making my own stock tastes the best, and I can control the amount of salt. If you just want a quick soup though, there isn't any problem with using a store bought stock. If you choose to do that, don't boil the chicken in it.
It won't hurt to use broth. It may add a lot of sodium if you use the canned or bottled kind. You can also make your own stock and freeze it, to use whenever you need.
yes , you can use broth. I used powered chicken stock though. I don't recommend bouillon cubes they usually have a weird taste.
Yes I use stock and then simmer the whole chicken, and veggies. The last thing I do, is add a couple of heads of well rinsed and chopped escarole
