Do you know someone with Bipolar?

How are they related to you and how do you handle it?

Report as

My niece is and as long as she stays on her meds she is fine. She now has a son and knows how important it is for him that she stays on her meds that we never have a problem anymore. However when she was younger and would go off them I would stay away. She would get mad at the time, but when she was back on them she understood.

Do you still have a few up and down moments here and there even on the meds if I may ask

Reason is my man is Bipolar. We got on med a few months ago and finally found a great balance. He still had his pissed off moments here and there and the Dr says it will always be like that which is fine. But Im trying to learn if I should just ignore him when he has his moments and tell and talk to him :)

I have a child and a couple of friends who are bipolar and all of them except one refuses to be on meds because they don't like the way it makes them feel. I have been present through several bipolar episodes and some of them were awful horrific to witness and included police, jail and hospitalization. Most posses grandiose behavior and have manic episodes. It is very important for them to be seen by a psyciatrist and if he/she does diagnose as being bipolar they will be prescribed meds. Please take them as directed. Any issues contact the doctor. After a couple weeks (give or take) on the meds you will notice a big difference and you will feel a lot better.
Good luck with whatever your reasoning is for writing your question.
I hope I helped some. Take care and God Bless you.
