How much money does it cost to sue someone?

whats the average amount of money needed to sue someone?

Depends on how big of a situation the law suit is. And also where you live. Like in the New England area, it averages to ABOUT= $15,000.

nothing , your lawyer gets paid when you get paid , your lawyer will only accept you ; if he knows It's worth it ; and that you will get paid .

Usually nothing. If your lawyer believes you have a really strong case he will take his cut from the settlement and what's left is yours. It usually takes a few years.

Depends on the amount. Small claims court will run you about $100 to file

There is no average amount. It depends on what you are suing for, what court you are in, and to some extent state law. A small claim of a couple thousand $$ can be filed by yourself in small claims court, and might only cost $50 to file. A million dollar lawsuit for negligence could be handled by a lawyer for free, for a % of the damages (anywhere from 25 - 60%) , if she thinks you have a good chance of winning. Most cases I handle I charge my clients by the hour, and it can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 by the time it's all over.
