Write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to the line defined by 8x-2y=10 and that passes through the point (-12,4) .

To write the equation, you need a pt and the slope. You already have the pt (-12,4). Go to the equation and find his slope (y=mx+b). Whatever it is , you will need the opposite reciprocal of that! ( you are perp). Now put all that in pt/ slope form.
Y-y = m(x-x)
