check your battery, and verify it happens with and without AC input run your clean-up programs... disk defrag, disk clean-up. run a full scan with your anti-virus get some compressed air and blow out all the input/outputs to clean the dust and debris preventing overheating... if all else fails call customer service and prepare for a long wait.

If you don't touch the touchpad, it is probably just going to sleep. Computers do this to save battery life - they will go into sleep mode if they don't detect any use (touchpad, typing, etc.) for a set amount of time. You can change this in your control panel.
I'v noticed that many people have gone through this same problem while watching online videos or randomly. What i suggest is 1)when your pc becomes overheated it shut down automatically, check that the fan is working properly 2)check whether all hardware components are working properly.u can check that in control panel 3)run an antivirus fullscan 4)update your pc. Hope it helps
Could be over heating, your computer could get over loaded, it could be the battery going out, best bet is to possibly take it in and have someplace give it a once over. Don't have to have them fix it right away but at least have them check it out.
If the things that the other comments said aren't working, it might be your motherboard. Sometimes on computers when the motherboard starts to fail it will cut out randomly. If you're experiencing this problem in spurts where itll keep happening every hour or so but then it will go for quite a while without the problem but it will start doing it later, then its probably your morherboard. The heat sink might also be the problem, which a simple fix if it is loose. either way your best bet is to talk to a computer proffesional.
