What's your opinion on the death sentence?

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

I with it only if it's a violent crime, if it's upon Three Strike Rule then no.

if the punishment fits the crime,I have no problem with it ,some deserve it , don't know why they take so long to do it ,almost like if they're trying to stall .

I don't believe in it. It costs more with all the appeals invoved than a life sentence. I don't think it's a detererent to serious crimes. Only God should decide when and how you die. I think prisoners are capable of rehabiliation and can do service to the community while in prison such as the dog training, license plate making etc.

I think it can be over-used. But if it's a bad enough crime, and they have evidence that it had to be them who did it, then yes. Think about the victims. Do you seriously think the guy who was responsible for the shooting at an elementary school, in Connecticut deserves to live (if he was still alive)?

There are times it seems tempting but, to quote Gandalf, many live who should have died while some have died who should have lived. I'm not smart enough to know the difference.

We're the only first world country to have it, it's a national embarrassment. It's immoral to kill under any circumstances. A prisoner world suffer more rotting in prison anyway.

I thought that, too. Apparently Japan uses it though a lot less frequently.

We think of the victims need for "Closure". Which do you think would make the victim's family feel better? Taking an eye for an eye, or participating in the redemption of a life. Grace is not easy. It just happens to save your soul. Think of the Amish families who forgave their attacker when their children were shot. I don't know if I could, but I dream of being able to if this should ever happen to me.

If the proof is indisputable, then immediately after the sentence the guilty party should be executed. Don't let them rot in prison on the taxpayers dime for appeal after appeal.

Only uncivilized countries use it.

India, Japan, Nigeria, Uganda, Botswana, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and the United States.

I'm not surprised by the US but Japan is a bit disappointing, but then again, some of their ancient traditions like Sumo have been hard to dislodge even when the corruption is demonstrable.

It has its place. There are those who cannot be changed and enjoy inflicting pain, suffering and death to others. Rehabilitation has been tried many times in our history, it changed nothing. It isn't a deterrant, it is recognizing that some people aren't fit to live in any kind of society...kind of like rabid dogs....The only way to ensure no one else is hurt by them is to put them down.

I would do it for free. One bullet and its cheap. These scumbags killing all these innocent people dont deserve to live. They are sick and need to be put down. I feel no pity for them. Only for the victims.
