I don't believe in it. It costs more with all the appeals invoved than a life sentence. I don't think it's a detererent to serious crimes. Only God should decide when and how you die. I think prisoners are capable of rehabiliation and can do service to the community while in prison such as the dog training, license plate making etc.
I think it can be over-used. But if it's a bad enough crime, and they have evidence that it had to be them who did it, then yes. Think about the victims. Do you seriously think the guy who was responsible for the shooting at an elementary school, in Connecticut deserves to live (if he was still alive)?
It has its place. There are those who cannot be changed and enjoy inflicting pain, suffering and death to others. Rehabilitation has been tried many times in our history, it changed nothing. It isn't a deterrant, it is recognizing that some people aren't fit to live in any kind of society...kind of like rabid dogs....The only way to ensure no one else is hurt by them is to put them down.
I would do it for free. One bullet and its cheap. These scumbags killing all these innocent people dont deserve to live. They are sick and need to be put down. I feel no pity for them. Only for the victims.
