Is it already written?

The King James Bible apparently has 80 "It is written" entries. Are we like puppets and just conforming to some script?

Shakespeare wrote, "To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day, to the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Well Shakespeare was a literary genius and yes, we are like puppets just conforming to a script, a play that has been showing for thousands of years each time new actors but always the same character being played by only one actor billions of times over- "but I want to be jesus!" they exclaim, the shouting match over who the real jesus is just part of the show- though the character is never played as written- that is how the play goes and there are no other characters in the play- just a one man show with billions of actors. The difference between this performance and others is that this performance begins when the actor is born again and ends when the actor dies. Everyone squabbles about the previous actors not playing the role right but the directors all know the role was never meant to be played "right" in the first place, in truth, the character's very nature is to play wrong.

I would say many are, and believe "it is written", it must therefore be so. People who possess only the vision to conform as instructed to ancient belief systems so weakly propped up by scant evidence that only blind faith can make them defensible. This is a sheep's mind. Ever talked to sheep? Human sheep quote rote scripture in the absence of original thought, as they herd toward empty promises of an unprovable paradise in the next field, frittering away this brief existence on their knees awaiting it, while their robed shepherds shear them routinely to fill their own coffers. I tend toward those who know the script, see it as satire and live unscripted.

Thanks. I got no axe to grind. I'm just a curious agnostic.

It was a good question, hope you found some answers. I don't cast any indictment upon those who find good in practicing their faith, only those who can contemplate nothing else.

It is by our spirit that there is confirmation that the Creator of the Universe said what was said. "His" Word is life and death, the very essence of the sounds that utters from His mouth are powerful. They are the final say regarding anything and everything. His contract, covenant, last will & testament with humanity ~ His Universe & all that exists

It is His Word that does not fall to the ground null & void. He is the keeper of His Word seeing that it is fulfilled. This is why there is the phrase, "It is written."

Have all Bible translations been translated 100% correctly?
I think not. The translators were human, there is always alterations in translating. BUT in God's awesomeness HIS life essence in what He did say is still there

Is everything He inspired in the souls of humans only confined to the Bible?
I think not. That is why there is a common thread within the writings from around the world. When we of all faiths hold on to these cords of life ~ we are one

Where there is love there is God. My faith is that salvation, cleansing of the soul of sin, redemption & reconciliation is only through Jesus Christ ~ The Word of God.

How it all fits in with those who believe differently, it is beyond my simple child like mind. I know, being a mother & grandma, I love ALL of my children ~ no matter what. They are my babies. So I know in my heart, somehow God through His Word is MORE loving of ALL His children than I could ever hope to imagine to be.

None shall parish, no not even one. His heart crys out, calling to each & everyone of us with His unconditional love. Be reconciled.

None shall perish??? A Christian says otherwise. You as a mother & grandmother (with it in your power) would not allow one of yours to perish in hell (no matter their transgressions).

Thanks for sharing.. We have such hope

As your saying neither does God desire any to parish.
I come with hope not condemnation.
I come with love not judgement

It is written : meaning :
It is complete truth
Prophecy fulfilled
Prophecy will be fulfilled
There is not one thing written by God inspired men : that will not come to pass.
The old Testament gives us a view of the things to come.
The New Testament brings to pass.
IT IS WRITTEN :
If I go : I will come again. !!!!!!

The Bible is the true inspired Word Of God. Call the Bible a lie is the same as calling God a liar.

Well, yeah. But it's the same thing as calling any character from a story a liar. The witch in Hansel and Gretel. She's a liar. So what?
Report as
The circular reasoning. Truth is not always fact, but facts are always true. The bible contains few facts.
Report as
There is no way the bible is from an all knowing being/God, if it were it would not have the contradictions or incorrect facts that it does and there are 100's of them.
There is no way it can be the inerrant word of God.

Please. Dispute one of these, Christians.

Isn't that an awesome line? Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. There are precious few humans whose lives actually change or affect anything. But it's not a big deal. I won't mourn my time here simply because there is no way possible for people to remember me four generations after my death.

There's certainly no cloud or pillow of sulfur awaiting me.

Athiests, agnostics and Christians have one thing in common....hope for enlightenment.
Report as
I find great pleasure in that special "Aha" moment. I don't know about enlightenment.
Report as
christians do not search for enlightenment, they seek to follow what their god dictates from the bible, nothing more, if knowledge disagrees with their bible then they discard the knowledge for their holy book.

I meant to say christians seek to enlighten others and I stand by that comment.

Christians seek fresh blood for their tithe offerings, whether they realize they're doing so on behalf of their Minister overlords or not.
Report as
Christians do not seek to enlighten others at all, they seek to preach their biblical propaganda, which is 90% or higher, myth, legend and lies. Very little can be backed up by outside sources, that is outside of places mentioned, but most timeline and happenings are way off.
