How to convince my mom?

My mom HATES HATES HATES when i wear sweat shirts or sweat pants to school. I tell her i want to be comfy and she still says no! all of my friends do and i look weird getting all dressed up for school. she says if i dont start looking nice now, i wont when i get a carrier or something.
how do i convince her to let me wear sweat shirts and pants to school.

Tell her why you think they could be good or fine to wear, but also realize her side, she might have a reason for not wanting you to.

You dont convince her. She is your mother and she buys your clothes. She wants you to be proud of your appearance and not look like everyone else. Their is nothing wrong with that.... but if your Mom says no.... then she probably means no. Abide by her rules until you live on your own and pay your own way.

And that reason would be that she wants you to look respectable, even if you don't care

Try finding common ground. Maybe you could try wearing sweaters, like dressy ones from old navy. They're comfy and they don't make you look like a slob. Also, yoga pants are stylish and ultra-comfy.

I say it all depends on your grades.....if you're doing well in school, then she should leave ya alone......if you're doing bad, then you should have to follow her rules 8)

Mom wants you to be a respectable individual. Fitting in or being cool are terms mean very little in the real world.

Tell your mom that your distracted at the fact that your dressed not like the others that you don't pay as much attention in school! She'll probably understand(:

i promise that this is a true story.
My mom did the same thing to me in middle school, she'd buy me all these beautiful clothes and I would do the same thing you do. But when my parents divorced, she moved several states away and now that I'm in high school, I've been getting interested in fashion and I completely regret not having a mom that would do that for me anymore.
My suggestion is compromise. Find a style that you both like and don't worry about how everyone else dresses. Be you.
