How to stop my boyfriend from being afraid to make out?

he has told me he's afraid of "getting caught in the moment" and leading the make out into something more, also he's afraid of people seeing which is totally understandable. but this just surfaced that he's afraid that he will think he did good but I would think otherwise. neither of us has made out before but I'm not scared I'm ready to do it. we've been together for 2 years

Jump on him in a dark alley... When I was young I too had to be "broken in". You will be doing him a favour.
