There are foot powders that are made for sweaty feet and foot odor, if I'm not mistaken, Dr Scholls makes it as well.
Take a shower!
Air fresheners lmfao. I use odor eaters. Try not to use really bulky socks or shoes that are right too. This makes it so the air is trapped and when it gets warm, they sweat
Put foot powder in the shoes she wears
Thank you.
this may sound weird, use regular insoles with dryer sheets under them. should smell like fresh laundry
Buy different shoes, wear cotton hosiery
Sorry my froggy friend. That booboo sounded bocky. I wasn't being snide. Sorry for the typo!
Buy bulk Christmas trees. One in each shoe.
Wow! Christmas all year long!
She's wearing the same pair of shoes every day, I bet. She needs to have at least 2, preferably 3, pair of shoes & wear them on alternating days. This gives the shoes time to dry out ... It's the moisture that promotes bacterial growth, which causes foot odor (in addition to athletes foot fungus & other nasty stuff!)
A foot-powder may help .
"Home Remedies for Foot Odor" ~

=)
You can put dryer sheets inside the shoes and spray them every night with febreze. Odor is caused by a moisture problem. Using foot powder as a drying agent helps. She might also try lining her soles with cotton .....uh ......pads .......ya know.
I assume you mean the thin ones, not the diaper size? :D (and blush)
How manditory are the hose? Feet are very sweaty even under the best of conditions. These feet are not given the opportunity to have the sweat wicked away. Cotton socks are the best option out there. The powder will help a little, but will not be the most effective.
It's another fashion curse. Stuff the toes in high heels, and suffocate them at the same time.
It's just nuts.
Dr. Scholl's medicated foot powder works for me. I sprinkle some in my shoes in the morning and also when I take them off for the day.
Try wearing the little socks that go in your shoes and you can't see. She can wear them over her hose to keep the moisture down. Also more than one pair of shoes because they need to dry out all the way.
I'm going to look for little socks to absorb.
I know at this point, she'll be glad to try anything. Thank you!
What kind of work does she do, that she wears hose and sweats so much? Maybe wear nice cotton socks, instead? Cotton might absorb the heat more. I'm sure polyester, or whatever the hose are made of, wont.
Also, if all else fails, have her go to a foot doctor for a check up. Ya never know .many times, when there are intolerable odors, which we can't explain, it could be due to something going on, internally.
Cotton would be so nice! Manmade fabrics just aren't as good.
Thank you!
She can use a basic anti-persp./deodorant...like the ones you use under your arms. (Just as long as she does not have diabetes or kidney problems, though.)
Thanks Yummy!

They have tons of info on toxic chemicals. I have changed so much of my practices. We had far too many young family members get cancer and other issues. I'm being much more careful.
The experts aren't experts!
We are all so frustrated with the confusion.
I liked your answer. I will share it!
This sounds weird as well , I have a problem with foot odor as well , So what I do is After I shower , Put solid deodorant on my feet or use Ban roll on and it works excellent , Also I lightly spray 91% rubbing alcohol in my shoes in the evening after wearing , The alcohol kills bacteria that causes odor and kills fungus as well , Worth a try
I wish we could star comments. Thank you.
Anybody who works out a lot is likely to get the same problem. Some of us use odor eaters (which have failed in her case) some of us use foot deodorant. Her solution may be as simple as taking a second pair of shoes and hose to work and changing part way through the day. (I knew a man who sweated so much that when he went dancing he took two spare shirts and managed to go through them all during the night.)
Back in the day, I actually came up with a foot deodorant for joggers. Everybody is familiar with Eau de Cologne, of course, but I called mine, Eau Dem Golden Slippers.
I can't wait for Mr. Happy to see this one. He reads all of yours.
The problem is, he gets excited and wants to type.
"NOOOO, you mad English Major! You'll get me kicked off Ask!"
He won't get an account of his own. I'll have to keep playing middleman .... middlewoman.
Oh, I don't care what role. Long as I get to play!
Can you imagine an extrovert like me with a shy guy? Yet, he does most of the talking here at home. I'm too busy laughing or contemplating most of the time. You two would be great together. He reads all kinds of philosophy, religion, literature....
I wish I could get the two of you in a room. You could go nuts, while Daizy and I come up with one-liners!
Have her soak her feet in vodka
Oh okay. Here's your star!
Happy, I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but, I saw on Dr. Oz, that soaking feet in cold tea is definitely supposed to work. I mean, that guy knows what he's talking about. I hope you suggest that.
I think she will try anything. We have a great list just from this Q&A. I knew everyone would come through!
The question seemed silly, but it's so common!
The answer Joshua Bagel gave is true!!! It was on Dr. Oz last year because vodka kills the bacteria that causes this odor. In order to have a bad odor, there has to be bacteria present, not just sweat. They got a big cheap bottles of vodka and had a guy in the audience soak each foot in it for 10-15 minutes a night for a week. (just use the same vodka). The odor never came back. They also had him rotate his shoes every three days and had him put his shoes in the dryer with some towels on hot and had him dry them out each night. But the vodka thing DOES work and it's permanent.
How cute that she has perspiring, stinky feet! She should have a good laugh at the cheesy, etc. odor :-) The basic continual advice posted is washing feet with soap, using underarm deodorant on the soles or foot powder, changing shoes, breathable sock material, etc.
Make sure she dries her feet well after showering: between the toes especially, thorough sole drying as well as the tops- - this may have been overlooked.
Possibly get some cedar trees for the pumps/flats.
Also, there are foot scrub recipes on-line and salt is sometimes mentioned as an ingredient.
Best bet: seek out your local independent apothecary or herbalist that can make a salve, scrub or powder of multiple ingredients just for her... and her beautiful, sweaty pungent cheesies:-)
She has been using a salt scrub. It's excellent for exfoliation and cleansing.
We went shoe shopping, so she has more choices.
She has also started soaking in vodka. It's only been two days, and I haven't seen her to see if her "cheesies" are getting tipsy. :-)
I have lots of info to work with. For what appeared to be a silly question, it was very informative!
Thank you Tom!
