What are some things you can do too help you calm down during a panic attack?

go outside sit down and just taking in deep breaths in from your nose and out of your mouth slowly. it slows down your heart rate and helps you calm down. just say to yourself im okay nothing is wrong and just breath. i used to have sever panic attacks and its what i did.

thanks, mine have been getting alot worse lately to the point where its hard to calm myslef down

i know how it feels sometimes it feels like your dying put i promise all you have to do is get your heart rate to lower and breathing calmly helps. and going out side you dont feel so trapped in , try to be around people. i found that when i has having a panic attack being around someone always calmed me down

i realized that i have too be around someone too, if im not i freak out more and it makes it worse.

i dont know if this helps because i dont know what you believe in or dont believe in but i would always pray when i had those. i wasnt ckose to God the time but I still asked him to take away my panic attacks and he did. just thought id try and help

count from 100 to 1 before u know it ull be calmd

I don't think eatin is a good solution, most ppl do that and up being over weight, I suggest that u get some time alone to come down

I recommend meditation. Be by yourself and just think of the wonderful things that you like

If you are having panic attacks frequently, like more than once a week, see your doctor for medication.

I don't think medication is the answer always, sometimes appropriate, but not always...last resort! I agree with breathing techniques and meditation/prayer of your choosing.
