Can a police officer talk about an Arrest in detail using the persons first and last name with just anybody, while on duty?
You do realize that arrest records are public.
Record of your arrest is public. However, I'm pretty sure that they're discouraged from discussing the details because its A) unprofessional and B) they may say something that can be held against them at the court hearing pertaining to the arrest.
Thus us all public record info. There's no such thing as police/arrestee privilege .
Yes I believe so. They are mostly just warning or informing the public of the arrest so they feel a bit safer.
Once you are arrested, you lose all rights of a citizen, so no one has no say in what the cops do.
No law against it i dont think but there may be specific departmental rules. Your arrest isnt private tho. Anyone can look it up on the net.
