What are the reasons that marijuana has been illegalized? Is there any medical evidence to support why it has been illegalized?
It's a natural, abundant and cheap alternative to many expensive prescription medications... therefore pharmaceutical companies lobby lawmakers and keep it illegal. Also think of all the jobs lost in the criminal justice system, if it were made legal... It's simply a matter of economics. Oh... look up MARINOL (it's synthesized THC, weed in a pill) thats been prescribed since the late 1960's. it's very medically beneficial, but drug companies make it and charge $1000+ per pill.
